i just had to update after reading karyee's blog. The last paragraph regarding kuala selangor dinner made me reminisce the moment. i think it was a few months back.

it was really fun seeing the fags screaming,"brake la wilson!!!","slow down la wilson!!!","wilson, are u speeding?".. seriously, they are the noisiest bunch of girls i've known in my life.. juliet, seklian, kar yee. luckily nick wasn't noisy if not i reli can go crash my car into the road divider or something.

It's been a long absence from me due to laziness, procrastination and whatnots..

nothing much has happened since the last update apart from the fact that i

1. made new friends in psychology.
2. realized how wild nicole actually is.
3. did my mid-terms and did relatively well except for project management.
4. completed shitloads of assignments(still doing some...).
5. got countless summons from DBKL..
6. realized how retarded people can actually become.
7. realized that sek lian is a good friend.. or maybe she's just good at pretending haha. :)
8. realized that i can never stop dota altogether.. a month's absence is my longest record.
9. became one of few top military players in freesky phoenix server.. ranked no.4 at the moment.
10. did some stupid things

12. lost interest in arachnids and cars.. yes im very fickle minded.

The past month has been a great time for me in the cinemas. Every movie I watched was money well spent.

G.I. Joe : Rise of the Cobra

I had low expectations for this movie but boy did it turn out to be one hell of a movie. Although there were a couple of lame jokes here and there, I guess it had to be there to neutralize the immense CGI and action scenes.

District 9

Documentary-styled. A nice deviation from the usual "shoot, bang, win" movies featuring aliens although it's essentially "shoot, bang, win" towards the end. Still, it's interesting enough to keep me, well, interested throughout the whole movie.

food was prepared and served by the resort's staff and it was gooood.

there was also free flow of beer, wine and liquor(not literally free flow but judging by the amount of stock they had, it would be impossible to finish, at least by a family or two)! but then again, go with family damn potong stim so i only had beer.

Casa Brina - The Perfect Escapade

Currently at Casa Brina, an exclusive resort with only a few units of Balinese styled bungalows.

Priced at RM10,000 per night, it's no wonder that this place is the perfect getaway for the stressed mind. Fortunately, our stay here is complimentary thanks to my uncle who has quite a bit of connections.

All in all, this place is extraordinarily relaxing and peaceful. Simply splendid! I'm glad to be here though it would be better with the bird by my side. =D

Caught this movie a week ago in the cinema and I must say that it's a pretty satisfying movie compared to the likes of the over-rated Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen and perhaps, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince though I can't speak with certainty for the latter as I've not watched it.

John Travolta was mesmerizing, as always.

Remember the RM80-a-day-job in my earlier entry 2 weeks ago?

Well, originally lasting a span of 8 days, it came down to only 4 days in total due to the epic PHAILness of the management. Retarded marketing strategy and dumb-ass supervisor/superior/boss resulted in the calling-off of the 'event'.

The previous 3 days were held in one of the air-conditioned halls of Universiti Malaya and that was okay but on the final day which was yesterday, Universiti Putra Malaysia it was and boy, was it FUCKED UP.

The door that the 2 dogs are staring at is supposed to be open and we're supposed to be inside the hall but unfortunately for us, our superiors too dumb and the PTPTN staff weren't notified of our arrival so we were left outside to rot. And also because of this shit, the event was called-off.

Getting paid RM80 a day to sit and chat. Not bad la.

So to all you people out there, if you think your job sucks, think again! but then again, my job sucked for only a day so too bad la for you people who are still having sucky jobs. haha.

The cousin of the Euro Civic Type R featured in my previous entry.

Considered the pinnacle of the Type R Honda Civics, this white beauty is indeed mesmerizing in terms of appearance and performance. Having one over the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and the Mercedes SLK 350 is enough proof of what this machine can do. Of course, don't go comparing the FD2 with Ferraris, Lamborghinis and whatnots. The difference in price is simply vast.

0-100km/h : 6.3 seconds

Not the fastest acceleration but according to drivers, the FD2 is extremely fast around corners.

Considering that the job is relatively easy, I'd say that RM640 is more than enough.

But don't ask me who I'm working for and what I'm working as because I'm not sure myself. Something to do with PTPTN and One Student One Notebook shit and giving out flyers in an air-conditioned hall at various government universities. That pretty much sums up my job.

The match was however marred by apparently bad decisions by the referee and Didier Drogba made his displeasure evident at the final whistle. The referee also sent Abidal off for a challenge on Anelka but there was no penalty.

What crosses your mind when the infamous yellowish red logo bearing the words Hot Wheels comes into vision? Some may brush the brand off as something associated with kids, others might argue that the miniature die-casts are a collector's item that should best be left in the hands of an adult. There is no one right answer to the question due to the subjectivity of the matter and hence should be left to yourself to ponder upon.

For the terribly uninformed, Hot Wheels is a brand dedicated to miniature die-cast vehicles of various scales. The most commonly available scale is the 1:64's you see hanging on racks in hypermarkets and Toys' R us. Retailing at RM6.50 per vehicle which is relatively reasonable for a miniature with exceptional quality and not to forget the countless castings and variations, it is no surprise that the brand is renowned throughout the world. It doesn't matter if you're 3 or 30 years old, there is bound to be something you'll like if you happen to be a fan of cars. As for myself, I started the hobby a couple of months back when I came across a black Ferrari FXX in a Promo Box. Little did I know that the journey would soon prove to be a fun and rewarding one. Apart from the excitement of scoring a new casting, I've got the opportunity to meet many fine people from different walks of life and this has actually contributed to my enthusiasm of the hobby. The one thing that has astounded me remarkably is the generosity of the Hot Wheels' community, i.e. offering unavailable/hard-to-get castings to fellow collectors for a decent price and whatnots. Thanks to the guidance of these kind and friendly people, I've learnt that the hobby isn't just about acquiring rare models i.e. Treasure Hunts etc. but also to share your knowledge, passion and experience. Afterall, what's the use of having every variation and casting in the world if there's nobody to share it with?

A film with 11 nominations. Sadly, the length of the movie was too much for me to bear and thus, I fell asleep - 2 hours and 45 minutes. Do bring a handkerchief or a packet of tissue paper just in case.

Honda Integra Type-R.
Fact : The term Type-R is actually derived from "racing".

This highly-tuned version of the regular Honda Integra was first introduced to the automobile market way back in 1995.

Over the years, Honda has gained reputation for being extremely meticulous in the production of the Type-Rs.

"Though the easiest way to increase horsepower is by increasing displacement or installing a turbo, Honda has made its reputation by sticking to its NA engines. The Integra's VTEC B18C type engine retained its stock displacement, but Honda increased its horsepower from 180 to 200. It's only *20* horses more, but those 20 horses were really tweaked out using Honda's formula 1 knowledge -- from an engine that was already getting 100 horsepower per liter." -superhonda.com

For the interested, here's some really good reading reference.

Sadly, in June 1996, Honda announced that the Integra(along with the Type-R) production would
be discontinued due to the shrinkage of the coupe market. Nevertheless, this car would remain a gem in the history books of the Japanese car industry.

Underworld 3 : Rise of the Lycans

I have yet to watch Underworld 1 and although I did watch Underworld 2, my memory on it could not be any worse.

As for the Rise of the Lycans, I enjoyed myself throughout the movie thanks to the monstrous werewolves and Lycans. Which has in turn led me to discover that I have an utmost fascination for such beasts. I felt exhilarated each and every time the infamous full-moon howl enveloped the cinema hall.

I must credit Rhona Mitra(above) for playing her role as a seductive female vampire with curves in all the right places! Although to say that she is a total sex bomb would be an overstatement, nevertheless, she would most certainly qualify as someone gorgeous.

Michael Sheen who plays the leader of the Lycans, Lucian, is another reason why this movie is worth watching. As Joe Leydon of Variety felt,"(Michael) hits all the right notes in a star-powered performance that will amuse, if not amaze, anyone who only knows the actor as Tony Blair or David Frost".

Personal praises aside, the storyline and setting of the movie would be considered above average although there were a couple of scenes which begged you to ask things like,"Why didn't Lucian transform at that moment..." and etc.. Nothing that would affect the movie much but still, I thought it would be worth mentioning.

Rating : 7/10

A decent alternate mode if it hadn't been for the cannons being an eye-sore as illustrated above.

Again, the metallic finishing seems to be the winning factor.

Being a Voyager class(geek term for medium large in size) bot, the price is much higher than Barricade and Bumblebee which are Deluxe bots(medium sized) but there is no doubt that Ironhide is worth every penny.

Personally, I'm very much convinced that the best line of Transformers ever manufactured by Hasbro is the Transformers The Movie series. Being exceptionally detailed(with the exception of Robo-vison Optimus Prime) compared to other lines is the main reason for my stand and I'm pretty sure that all of you feel the same. =)

One of the few Premium figures of the Transformers The Movie line. The Premium series feature figures which are supposedly more movie-accurate as compared to its *predecessors - figures which are produced before the screening of the movie, hence the less accurate features. Another notable highlight of Premiums is the metallic finishing which provides the excellent complement to an already beautiful figure.

Sexy & sleek, eye-catching decos coupled with a brilliant paint-job. This figure is a winner when it comes to alternate modes.

Pretty decent as well in robot mode.

By far the best deluxe figure there is except that the original yellow Bumblebee is cooler. Nevertheless, I had to get this figure the moment I saw it in somebody's garage sale thread. It was way below retail price and fairly rare too due to Bumblebee's popularity after the Blockbuster movie in 2007!

Neca's AVPR : Masked Predator (7 ½ inches)

I got this monster of a figure for a really good deal along with a Warrior Alien, an Unmasked Predator and a Hybrid Predalien. Manufactured by NECA, this figure(along with the others) has gained much praise from hobbyists and collectors worldwide. And we're about to see why.

Needless to say, the sculpt and paint-job is pretty good, as you can see from the pictures. Scarily movie-accurate, that's what I call it.

The articulation on the other hand, is acceptable but not good enough. Then again, having too much articulation would probably take away the realism in the figure.

An exceptionally well-sculpted mask, my personal favourite.

Despite the articulation, I'm sure it's still a pretty sweet figure aye?

Slumdog Millionaire

Who would have thought that a low budget movie set in one of the world's most dirtiest and poverty-ridden city would be nominated for a total of 31 awards; six at the Critic's Choice Awards, four at the Golden Globes and not to forget the eleven BAFTA Awards plus ten Academy Awards?

I, for one, certainly did not. In fact, even after I knew about the nominations, I was still not convinced, mainly because :-

I've never heard of the actors.
I am not a fan of Bollywood-I am very aware that this movie ain't Bollywood but still, you get the idea.
The poster/wallpaper of said movie is seriously unappealing to movie-goers. It's a disaster.
I'm just a dog la, I don't like the idea of watchin a movie with close-to-zero publicity. But there are soooo many nominations aye? what's the point? i'm a dog, i follow my first instincts - A MOVIE WITH SUCH LOW PUBLICITY MEANS LOW BUDGET CHEAP-SKATE MOVIE! I DON'T CARE THAT EVERYONE SAYS IT'S GOOD, MY INSTINCTS TELLS ME THAT IT'S BAD!

That was before my uncle chose to play the movie on his home theater over The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

As of now, I quote Ty Burr of Boston Globe,'Cancel whatever you're doing tonight and go see Slumdog Millionaire instead.'

Trip to FRIM

A nice warm bath did little to comfort my aching legs after a 2 hour hike together with Rafiq through a segment of FRIM under the scorching afternoon sun. I was exhausted after an hour or so but raw ego and determination saw me through the rugged and slippery terrain.

Nothing fascinating about the hike. One should however bear in mind that my former statement should not serve as an accurate summary of FRIM due to the fact that exhaustion probably contributed to my displeasure.

*The above specimen is said to have exceeded a hundred years in age, at least that was what the owner told me. I'm pretty sure it was very much exaggerated - Common Snapping Turtles have never exceeded 50 years of life according to online resources(yet I can't be sure if such sources can be trusted). Absolutely tremendous in size for its species(and most freshwater turtles), it stood at approximately 20-24 inches long from nose to tail.

Mediocrity engulfs this figure no matter how I look at it in robot form.

However, in its alternate form i.e. vehicle mode, I think it looks pretty ok.

Below average sculpt and sometimes terrible paint-job is starting to get to me.
Transformers fail as figures IMO, well, not all but a relatively large number.

Hence, I guess I'll stop. for good.

This is long delayed but heck, depriving this movie of its own post is like...depriving myself of DotA(retarded comparision, yes).

One of the best movies I've watched in my entire 19 years(and counting) of life. Prior to the movie, I wasn't looking forward to it at all due to my bad experiences with exaggerated display of kungfu in various flicks. And by exaggerated I mean unrealistic and boring. BUT this, this movie of 2008 is by all means, different.

Capturing my attention from the very first minute, this movie is pure WIN with a capital W all over it - as opposed to movies with a capital F featured in previous entries of this blog.

If you haven't watched this, go grab a DVD and please watch it on a decent LCD/Plasma television for if you choose to do otherwise, you do yourself and the movie no justice.

McFarlane Toys 12 Inch T-850 Arnold Terminator 3 Action Figure

My latest haul would be none other than the "McFarlane Toys 12 Inch T-850 Arnold Terminator 3 Action Figure". I must proudly admit that this figure is extremely rare and I consider myself lucky for stumbling upon it on a local forum. The fact that it isn't available for sale on eBay Malaysia contributes to my triumph!

Featuring 6 points of articulation ; neck, both shoulders, right bicep, right wrist and waist, it's obvious that this figure isn't designed for much movement but nevertheless, being a 12 inch figure(which is pretty heavy btw), I doubt anyone would wanna move it much.

A Terminator is never complete without weapons you might say. Fear not as this T-850 figure is complemented with a sub-machine gun and a combat shotgun(refer to pictures attached).

In addition to the accessories, a base with a sound chip featuring 4 lines from the movie is also included. According to a review I read awhile back, unfortunately, the Terminator sounds terrible due to the fact that the speaker is too tiny for its size. Still, that should not be a detriment to this wonderful figure.

Langkawi Trip - Bella Vista Hotel

I just got back from Langkawi last night after a hectic 5 hour journey. The 3 star Bella Vista Hotel, being our accommodation for 3 nights was far better than I thought although my first impression was negative. Upon reaching the entrance of the hotel, I was dumbfounded by the lack of cars in the parking lot and to put it more bluntly, the surprising low number of tourists. The lobby was manned by a single receptionist and that led me to the thought that we had chosen the wrong hotel.

However, I was proven wrong after we entered our apartment. The furnishing was worthy of a 3 star and by the time I tasted my Sup Kambing and Nasi Lemak at the Nautilus Grill & Bar by the pool, I was sold. With the number of patrons not exceeding 12 in a place with the space to accommodate >70 customers, you wouldn't expect too much of the food. I am absolutely delighted to be wrong for once. In fact, I am personally happy with the low number of fellow tourists as I detest crowds and loud noises.

The trip was complemented by the clear blue skies and calm ocean waves. Serene and tranquil, what more can I say?

The best 3 words to sum up this trip? DUTY FREE LIQUOR. (and ciggs)

I went to The Curve with Juliet earlier today for my postponed birthday lunch treat. After browsing through the various restaurants on the directory, we made our way to a unique yet attractive food bar, the 'Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.' restaurant. Despite boasting a chain of 31 restaurants worldwide, this particular one at The Curve is the only branch in Malaysia.

Inspired by the movie 'Forrest Gump', the restaurant's theme is pretty self-explanatory. The movie is also screened 24/7 on the LCD TV located behind the bar, so for those of you who have not been accustomed with the movie, feel free to start.

Got this devil a couple of days ago and I was pretty satisfied and contented with the markings and coloration but alas, it escaped when I was rehousing it last night. The speed displayed in comparison to its size is akin to a Homo Sapien scaling a skyscraper in nothing more than a second, literally.

The photo below illustrates its escapade.

I'll just have to buy my luck and hope for the best to happen i.e. going into my room and find it happily wandering around(not very likely though as tarantulas would prefer to hide most of the time).

I woke up today with a slight headache but nevertheless I made my way to OneUtama to catch a movie and have lunch with Juliet. Initially I wanted to watch either 'Death Race' or 'Black Water' but because I'm such an understanding boyfriend, I suggested that we watch said movie because I knew she had been wanting to catch it since eons ago.

Basically, the story revolves around a lustful king, a whore, a girl who values love more than power and position and not forgetting the backstabbing bitches and bastards. Set in Old England, although not worthy of an Oscar, this movie definitely delivers.

Since I'm feeling lazy and I obviously don't wanna spoil this movie for all of you, I'll leave it to you to catch it personally.
